The Economic Regeneration & Sustainability Unit
"By 2014 Worcestershire will be an economic driver for the region, with a prosperous and sustainable economy, driven by technology-led enterprises, offering well paid and highly skilled jobs and a high quality of life for its residents."
The Economic Regeneration & Sustainability Unit works with partners to develop strategic plans and support the delivery of the key function of the unit:
"To promote sustainable development in the County, achieving sustainable economic growth, conserving and enhancing the environment and strengthening local communities for the benefit of all who live in, work in and visit the County"
The Key Priorities are
Economy and Enterprise: to promote jobs with higher skills and higher wages while maintaining full employment.
Regeneration: to help disadvantaged communities to access the benefits of economic prosperity.
Sustainability: to ensure that sustainability is 'mainstreamed' into the policies and services of the County Council and promoted throughout Worcestershire.
