Sea Ford Lane Picnic Place

Sea Ford On the site hedgerow flowers brighten up the landscape, trees provide a dappled shade to the scene, and Sparrows and Robins wait patiently for picnic crumbs.  Otters have been recorded in Piddle Brook, though you are very unlikely to see one.  The site is only 90 feet above sea level, and there can be some spectacular flooding around here.

Positioned on a quiet country lane near the picturesque village of Naunton Beauchamp, the site is surrounded by pastures and orchards, and is a great base for exploring the surrounding countryside. There are lovely walks around this parish, including through the village with its black and white cottages, thatched roofs and small village green.

The footbridge was a former World War II pontoon. In the surrounding fields  earthmounds provide evidence of longhouses, which accommodated families and their animals in Saxon times. Medieval ridge and furrow lines still divide up the fields, another sure sign that the parish has an interesting past, and many stories to tell.
