Issues affecting listed buildings are primarily dealt with on a district-by-district basis by the District Conservation officers. DEFRA also have an historic buildings advisor that deals with grant applications affecting listed buildings. The County Historic Environment and Archaeology Service also provide county-wide advice on historic building recording on both listed and non-listed historic buildings.
