Adult education, employment and training

With the onset of deteriorating vision, most people are concerned about their employment.

No decisions about the future should be taken without first approaching the local job centre and asking to speak to the Disability Employment Adviser.  There may be suitable services to help you remain in your current employment or make appropriate decisions about any future move.

Most areas have Specialist Careers Advisers for those people not yet employed.

Many people wish to start in full or part-time education or seek specific training opportunities, if you require more information about suitable courses and funding, contact either the Disability Employment Adviser at the Job Centre Plus or the appropriate college.
