The tenth Citizens’ Panel Survey was themed around ‘Access in Worcestershire’.Questions covered access to the countryside and public rights of way, libraries and access to information.
Worcestershire County Council’s Countryside Service Public Rights of Way Improvement Plan is concerned with public rights of way (e.g. footpaths, bridleways etc) and other opportunities to enjoy the countryside. Responses to this survey will help the Countryside Service decide its priorities for the future.
Questions in the section ‘Access to Libraries’ will help us understand your awareness of the services offered by Worcestershire libraries. The information provided will help us prioritise the areas of the library service we should be promoting and develop different aspects of our service – especially to those who do not use them at the moment.
The Freedom of Information Act came into force in January 2005. It enables anyone, (unless a legal exemption applies), to access information held by public authorities, including Worcestershire County Council. In order for us to prepare for this we wanted to canvass views beforehand to make sure we can respond to requests in the areas which most interest the public about our services. Survey results will inform our staff training programme and help us to develop our Publication Scheme.
The survey period ran from November 3rd to December 6th 2004, results are now available.
