What is it?

The Friends of Worcestershire Record Office was established in the 1970s and consists of users of the office who have appreciated the service and facilities offered. Its main aim is to:

• Foster interest and pride in the rich heritage of Worcestershire and to ensure its survival and security for the benefit not only of our own generation, but for those to come
• In addition to this the Society seeks to:
• Support and co-ordinate research, publishing, education and the advertising of the Record Office
• Assist with funds for the purchase of special collections of archives, books or equipment not normally within the scope of the office
• Arrange, or help with, exhibitions, meetings, lectures and classes, or other voluntary activities

So, who can join?
Membership is open to anyone with an interest in local archives with members receiving regular newsletters about the activities and work of the Record Office. There are also opportunities to take part in events such as lectures, visits to places of local and historical interest, exhibitions and occasional social gatherings.

What does it cost?
Annual subscriptions are:

• Individual membership £6
• Joint membership £10
• Society membership £10
