Grass Cutting

Grass cutting usually starts in April and ends in November, however due to the effects of climate change the start and finish dates may vary year on year so as to address the specific prevailing conditions.

* Generally on Malvern Hills District Council owned land the grass is cut approximatly every month throughout the growing season but cutting may be suspended to accommodate periods that the grass is showing low levels of growth.

Also at times of extreme weather conditions or in emergency situations, grass cutting may be suspended so that resources can be diverted to where they are needed.

The provision of new ‘zero-turn’ grass cutting machines in 2006 has enabled Malvern Hills District Council to efficiently cut grassed areas with a minimum need for grass collection.

Malvern Hills District Council also contract cuts some grass areas on behalf of Worcestershire County Council.

Listed below are some of the larger organisations that also conduct grass cutting within the Malvern Hills district:

New Mowers

* Priory Park, Rose Bank Gardens, Sling Lane Football Pitches and Spindle Road Wildlife Corridor are cut on differing schedules relating  to their specific needs.
