A proxy vote is when you appoint someone else to vote on your behalf. Anyone can ask for a postal vote but if you want to appoint a proxy you must give a reason why you cannot reasonably be expected to vote in person (eg if you will be on holiday)
If you wish to appoint a proxy download and print an application form
(200.61 KB) here. A separate application form is required for each person. Because the application is a legal document it must be signed by the person concerned and then sent back to the Council at the address stated below. Applications cannot be submitted by e-mail.
If you are unable to download or print the form please contact Customer Services and we will send a form to you in the post. Please don't forget to give your full name and address and state how many forms you require.
If you wish to apply for a permanent proxy vote you must fall into one of the following categories:
There are different forms depending upon the type of application you wish to make.
