Major Employment Sites

The popular Enigma Business Park is the largest employment site in the District and incorporates the existing Spring Lane Industrial Estate as well as new employment allocations. The Park in Malvern is home to more than 125 businesses and around 1,500 employees. The Park is almost all developed and current schemes include further phases of the Enigma Commercial Centre, an extension to Automated Packaging Services premises, development of further office and light industrial buildings and also a quality combined hotel, conference centre and Spa complex.

Malvern Hills Science Park is closely linked to QinetiQ Malvern and was officially opened in April 2000. Phases 1 and 2 are fully occupied and the Malvern Hills Science Park is now developing Phase 3 of its site. The two and three storey development, which will be one of Britain’s most environmentally friendly buildings, will provide space for around 15 new businesses and could create up to 160 new jobs over the next 3 years, almost doubling the existing figures. The scheme’s £6.8m cost is being largely funded by Advantage West Midlands. Work on site is underway with completion of 27,000 sq ft of high tech offices and laboratory space expected in Summer 2007.

Employment Land at the former MOD North Site in Malvern is set to become a centre of excellence for all forms of product testing. TRL Compliance Services have recommissioned former MOD testing facilities on the site which houses one of the largest Electro Magnetic (EMC) Chambers in Europe. Other buildings on site are also due to be developed.

Land at Tenbury Business Park is also being made available for sale and interest has been shown in the 4 acre site on the outskirts of the Town which is earmarked for B1 uses.

A number of new industrial units are planned for the Link Industrial Estate in Malvern, that offer quality accommodation for local businesses to operate and trade from. The Site is already home to a wide variety of market-leading brands and other business providers, including a branch of the internationally recognised health food supplier Julian Graves. A further eight modern business premises are now available, at competitive and flexible rates. Each spacious unit comes equipped with the option of installing an extra mezzanine floor, and is complemented by ample room for parking and manoeuvrability. Alongside all of this the site also boasts a resident site manager and twenty-four-hour CCTV system monitoring all traffic, as well as a gateman.

Outline planning consent has now been obtained for 330,000 sq ft of High Quality B1, B2 and B8 units for the new Blackmore Business Park in Malvern which will offer further quality workspace provision for growing indigenous businesses and potential new businesses to the area.

Land at the Malvern Hills Science and Technology Park currently occupied by QinetiQ is due to be released for further High Technology related development in the future and significant work has been undertaken with AWM and the CTB’s input to progress this opportunity.
