Working for a better environment!
These pages
are designed to provide the Malvern Hills district with all the information needed to reduce waste within
the home.
The Government set national recycling targets that we need to achieve. The national recycling target for 2005 / 2006 was 18% steadily rising to 40% by 2010
So how are we doing?
Last year we collected nearly
23,590 tonnes of waste (Apr 07-Mar 08) and we currently have a recycling rate of 26.02% with an average
of 83% of residents participating in some way with our recycling schemes.
This is an excellent achievement and it is encouraging that local residents are embracing the services that we are providing. As your local council we are committed to providing the best possible service and value for money. We continue to review and improve our services so that with local residents help we can work for a better environment.
Check out the Recycling pages and learn more about how you can help us reach our targets for 2008 / 2009!
You can check the weekly recycling collections by using the 2008 Recycling Calendar.
