Planning Services On Line |
We have a 'Duty Planner' who will normally be available to answer simple planning enquiries between 10am and 1pm daily. For more complex enquiries, please see our Guidance Note on Pre-application Planning Advice. (Important Notice: Planning Advice

The main areas of the service are:
| Search Planning Appplications | Here you can view details of current and historic planning applications as well as viewing property details by reference to a map. You can monitor the progress of current applications, submit comments about them and search a constantly updated list of applications received and decided each week. |
| Building Control | Building Control is a process by which any new building work, whether house, office, factory or extension, is checked to ensure it is designed and built to exacting standards. The standards are laid down by Government in the Building Acts and Building Regulations. |
| Planning Applications/ Development Control | Our main job is to assess proposals for development: either physical work like new buildings and extensions, or changes of use of land or buildings. The section deals with the processing of applications for Planning Permission, Advertisement Consent, Listed Building Consent, Conservation Area Consent and Hedgerow Removal. We also give informal advice on proposals. |
| Development Plans | The functions of the service are based around land use matters and the management and enhancement of the environment. |
| Conservation | Conservation works for the protection of the historic fabric of the District, ensuring the protection of listed buildings, the enhancement of the conservation areas and the protection and retention of amenity trees. |
