Front Design Guide SPD on 11th April 2011
The Design Guide, which was prepared in partnership with the
District’s three Civic Societies, sets out guidance for the design
of shop fronts across the whole district. The SPD will be taken
into account as a material consideration during the assessment of
development proposals for shops.
The Adoption
Statement gives formal notice that the Council has adopted the
SPD. The Statement made under
Regulation18 (4)(b) of the Town and Country Planning (Local
Development) (England) Regulations 2004 provides a summary of

Local Consultations in Malvern Hills District
Discussion on the Site Allocations and Policies Plan for the
villages and rural areas across South Worcestershire
Towards the end of 2009 we held
consultations in the main towns across South Worcestershire,
(Worcester, Droitwich Spa, Evesham, Pershore, Malvern, Tenbury
Wells and Upton-upon-Severn. Over 1,000 people visited the
staffed events and made their comments to the South Worcestershire
Development Plan team.
Similarly, during January to March 2010 the
focus was turned to the rural areas of Malvern Hills and
Wychavon Districts. Planners asked residents, businesses
and others where they thought there were opportunities for houses,
jobs, community facilities, open space and other land uses within
some of the villages across the locality to provide for future
development needs.
We asked local views on potential sites, and
what sort of policies we will need to guide further development and
ensure the rural areas of the district thrive towards the middle of
the century.
The closing data for the Site Allocations and
Policies Development Plan consultation has
now ended (30th April 2010).
