Callie-Ann Halliday
Age: 17
Sport:Canoe Slalom
Current Level: National
Competitions being Entered this
Year: All Premier Division slaloms. They will be at
Nottingham white water centre, Cardiff White Water Centre, Bala in
North Wales, Washburn in Yorkshire, Shepperton on the Thames,
llandysul in South Wales, Grantully in Scotland, Tees Barrage in
the North East.
Best Sporting Achievement to
Date: I went to the World Freestyle Kayaking Championships
in Plattling Germany as the under 18's reserve lady. I am currently
ranked 7th in Great Britain for ladies C1 slalom. I came
5th in this years British Open championships.
Goals for the Year: I would
like to qualify for the under 23's GB selection. These will be
held in April at the Olympic Slalom Course at Lee
Valley.
Long Term Ambition: To be
part of the GB Team.

Malvern Hills District Council: I feel incredibly lucky
that The Joanna Brown Trust and Malvern Hills District Council have
chosen to support me for the second year running. I really
hope that I will carry on improving and make them proud that they
have been a part of my success.

Lucy Walton
Age: 12
Sport: Golf
Current Level: England Year 2 Birdie Squad.
Competitions being Entered this Year: English
National Girls Under 13, Scottish Under 14 Girls, Other National
and County Opens.
Best Sporting Achievement to
Date: 3rd in National Under 13 Girls, 2nd in Scottish
Under 12 Girls, County Under 18 Champion.
Goals for the Year: To reduce
handicap to 4 in 2012, finish top 3 in under 13 National Girls
2012.
Long Term Ambition: To become
a professional golf player
Message to the Joanna Brown Trust and
Malvern Hills District Council: I am so grateful for my
grant. To reach the next step in my development I need individual
tuition and this grant will allow this. Thank you so much for
supporting and believing in me.
Anna Young
Age: 12
Sport: Squash
Current Level: Regional and
National
Anna is currently ranked 20th in the UK for
U13 girls and is the current U13 and U15 county champion. She has
also won 3 different England national squash tournaments. Anna
aims to make the top 10 rankings for her age group and hopes to
play for England one day.
Niamh Durham
Age: 9
Sport: Gymnastics
Current Level: Regional and National
Niamh is a regional and national level gymnast. Having been a
member of Malvern Hills Gymnastics Club, Niamh now has a full
time place at Tamworth Gymnastics Clubs and has been offered trials
at Park Wrekin Gymnastics Club. Niamh’s aim is to compete for
England in the World Championships and Great Britain in the
Olympics.
Emily Lewis
Age: 17
Sport: Sprint Kayaking
Current Level: National
Champion over 200m. Represented Great Britain.
Competitions being Entered this
Year: Regattas at the National Water Sports Centre,
Nottingham in April, May and June. European Championships Croatia
end of June. World Championships in Germany August. National
Championships September.
Best Sporting Achievement to
Date: National Champion in K1 (Individual) over 200m and
in a K2 with my partner Kathryn Trotter over 200, 500m and 1000m.
4thin the B Final at European Championships held in
Moscow 2010.
Goals for the Year: To qualify and gain
selection for the Great Britain squad for the European and World
Championships.To make the final at the European Championships.
To retain my K1 National title over 200m and also win the 500m. To
retain all K2 titles.
Long Term Ambition: It would be great to be
selected for the senior squad and to represent Great Britain at the
2016 Olympic games to be held in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.

have given to me and I will do my utmost to perform to the best of
my capabilities and realise my full potential.

Joshua Brooks
Age: 13
Sport: Cycling
Current Level: Regional and National
Racing
Competitions being Entered this Year:
Midlands Cross Country League and Local Time Trials.
Best Sporting Achievement to Date: 2nd in May
Hill Nish Nosh, Cross Country event.
Goals for the Year: Top come in top 10 for
all my races.
Long Term Ambition: To race on the
international circuit and represent my country.
Message to the Joanna Brown Trust and Malvern Hills
District Council: Thank you so much for your support, it
will give me so many more opportunities to get better and better
and do more races and training days.
Hannah
Beasley-Suffolk
Hannah is a 17 year old Great
Britain Archer. She is a member of Malvern Archers, The
England Team and the Great Britain Junior Team. Hannah is County
Junior and Senior Champion, Regional Junior Champion and National
Junior Champion. Hannah also holds 2 national records. She is
ranked 3rd in Great Britain.
Hannah would used the funding to purchase new
equipment and upgrade her existing equipment.
Her aim is to compete for Great Britain
in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio Di Janeiro, Brazil.
