What is Twitter? 
Twitter is a website which offers a social
networking and blogging service, enabling its users to send and
read other users' messages called tweets. Tweets
are posts of up to 140 letters displayed on the user's
profile web page. Tweets are publicly visible, however senders can
restrict their messages to their friends list. Users may subscribe
to other tweets, this is known as following and
subscribers are known as followers.

What is Facebook? 
Facebook is a popular social networking website
launched in 2004. Users of Facebook can add their friends and send
them messages, they can update their personal profiles to
notify friends about themselves and what they're up to.
Additionally, users can join networks organised by
the workplace, schools, or colleges.
